J740 PLEASE HELP! Dell won't!

My printer had a paper jam. I pulled it out correctly and nothing seems to be broken. When I turned my printer back on it tried to scroll a piece of paper through. It did that, but is now blinking the little paper button constantly. Everytime I turn it off and back on it does this. I tried to just ignore it once and print something and an error message popped up that said there was no connection between my computer and the printer. I checked all the cords for problems. Nothing. There is power to the printer and my computer makes a sound to tell me that the printer is connected. Why isn't it working?

Have you tried removing the power brick from the rear of the unit, leaving it out for a few seconds, then replacing it?  The power brick is the large black square that the power cord plugs into, simply pull it straight out.  This can sometimes clear firmware glitches like the one you appear to be having.  Hope this helps!

Hi,

Please do these following Steps:

1.Disconnect the Printer Power Supply and wait for 10 Seconds and reconnect it back again

2.Open the printer cover and take the ink Catridges out and Wipe them with a Cloth and put them back again

3.Lift the Printer and shake it upside down disconnecting the power supply

4.I am sure this will fix it otherwise mail me once again

I tried to do that but when I open the cover the cartridges don't slide out.

keep your printer ON and then try to open printer cover, the cartridges will slide out.

Try deleting your printer and then adding it again.
