Lines thru scanned image

Question

I am suddenly having problems with my AIO 944. Black lines appear on every scan, in the same spot. The lines run from top to bottom on an 8-1/2 X 11 page, and there are 2 of them. Is my scanner shot? Thanks!

Wow, do I feel silly. That was my first thought, and I did clean it, but apparently not well enough. Thanks!!!

Does the line appear when you use the flatbed as well as the manual feed? If they are appearing in the same place each time, clean both scanner areas (the bed and the manual feed scan portion) VERY well. Even the smallest, almost invisible smudge can cause lines.

don't feel silly. the same thing happened to me a few weeks back. i kept cleaning the flatbed and didn't realize the manual feed scanner was different. i'm hoping that means it works now!

I am having the same problem with my AIO 966 printer. However the black lines appear only with scanning and copying with the document feeder. Documents placed on the glass copy and scan just fine. Any ideas for a solution?   Roger
