After 5 hours with Dell on call and 2 different techs...they did what you explained.....wish I would of got your e mail before the marathon with Dell, but service contact was going to end so I used it.
Had the same problem -- Here's what worked for me:
1) Changed my firewall settings in PC-cillin to "Home Network" and set security level to "Low".
2) I uninstalled the printer drivers -- Make sure you have your printer CD available so you can reinstall them later.
3) I ran the 3300 install utility on the CD that came with the printer adapter.
4) Reinstalled the printer drivers using the printer CD
5) Everything works great.
***** One problem: I would love to return my firewall back to a higher security level such as "Wireless Network" with a medium security level. When I do this, however, I'm unable to use the Scan function for the printer. To do this, I'm pretty sure you need to set up an exception for the printer but I haven't been smart enough to figure out how to do it.
I am a 54 year old woman who received (as a gift )a computer on her 40th birthday, I love them....and now have a completely wireless network...yeah.....laptop...mouse...printer....work from my kitchen table....I am self taught.....but continue to learn and upgrade to things that make it easier to live in this world. There is so much I do not know, but I make it through....there are alot of people out there with a wealth of knowledge....I could not live without the internet....the world at my fingertips....life is grand....thanks

Glad it helped.
"Do you work with computers?" - Not currently, but I did about twenty years ago.
