Print Queque Does Not Clear
I have a Dell 962 AIO printer. I recently got a XPS 420 desktop with Windows Vista Home Premium. I downloaded the Vista drivers to my computer. After printing a job, the print queque does not clear. The only way it will clear is if I go into task manager, processes and delete image name dlbxpswx.exe. I have to do this after every job. Is there a more permanent solution? I have tried Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 services.msc then Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 scrolling down to PRINT SPOOLER, Right-click on it and choose RESTART. This has not worked. Any other thoughts here? Thanks

runnyc262,
It sound like you have a problem with the drivers not being installed correctly. Please follow the instructions below and everything should work again. Please make sure you have all the Windows Updates, especiall .net framework, needed to run many applications. Also make sure to have the latest Java.
Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer. Restart your computer.
Download the proper drivers.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
All other drivers
Vista 64-bit Drivers
Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer.
Install the latest firmware for the 962 printer
Scanning
Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.
Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.

Rick,
Thanks for your reply. I did what you suggested. I still get the same result. For what it is worth, in following your instructions, I did get the prompt asking if I wanted to print a test page. I do not recall seeing that previous.

Mike,
Can you print anything from the computer, now? Does the printer queque clear?
Usually when a printer does NOT install, I usually find either some type of virus protection, security suite and/or firewall is blocking the communications. The last reason is that the System could need a repair installation. Make and Model of Computer and operating system needed.

Rick,
Thanks again for the timely response. I am able to print. I still have the issue where I need to go into task manager and delete dlbxpswx.exe which is the printer status window interface. My computer is a Dell XPS 420 with a 32 bit operating system Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1.
Thanks again.

Mike,
Usually when a printer doesn't install, there is a small problem with the operating system. I would suggest you ask in the Miscrsoft OS Forum, the procedure to repair Vista on your computer.
