This is my first time on a 'forum' so I'm not sure whether to thank Pudgy, Rick or clem whose solution to my 'hardware error 0502' has worked! Much gratitude from Wales (just left of England).

Thank you so much. This worked for my dell printer. I was ready to throw this away and go buy a new printer.
Only question I have is now it is making loud sound when printing.
