Printer drivers refuse to install
Hello all!
I recently purchased a Dell Photo 964 printer. I love it...it works great! I've been using it for a few weeks with my laptop. A week ago I purchased a Dell 3300 Wireless Printer Adaptor. So I installed the adapter and now it is hooked up to my printer. Now I am trying to install the printer (I had uninstalled it before installing the adaptor) The setup runs fine, when I click "Install Network Printer" I get an error message that says "Install GUI has stopped working". I've read a similar post on this forum where another user had a similar problem:
http://en.community.dell.com/forums/t/19253898.aspx
Here is the error message I am getting:

If anyone could be of help I would greatly apperciate it! I am at my odds end on this!
My laptop:
Compaq Presario C712
Intel Pentium Dual Core 1.47Ghz
2GB Ram
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32-bit

ZoomTm,
First, let's make sure your computer has the latest Windows Updates, especially .net framework, needed to run many applications and the latest Java.
Fix your wireless router first.
Update the firmware in your wireless router. Manufacturer's website, make & Model needed.
Broadcast SSID(You may want to change this to make it easier to connect)
Use WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(WPA Personal). Most wireless devices work best with this type of security.
Mixed b and g mode(n if available)
Use channels 1 or 11. Most devices work better on these channels.
Save and exit. Power everything off for 30 seconds. Power everything back on, wait 30 seconds, now try to connect.
After router is done, now setup your wireless print server/printer.
3300 Utility
3300 Firmware
Attach the 3300 to your computer using the USB Cable and insert the 3300 disk. Follow the instructions. It should ask you for the network ID, type of security and password.
Now for the printer. Download and run this patch to completely remove the printer from your computer.
Restart your computer.
Download the proper drivers.
XP Drivers
Vista 32-bit Drivers
Vista 64-bit Drivers
All other drivers
Install the drivers, choose network, choose I'm using a wireless print server(if you do not see this, then choose add printer and you should see it then) and follow the instructions.
Scanning
Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.
Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer

Matt had a homemade computer. He found his solution but his was a rare case.
I only got back to this last night but when I was Googling on various combinations of ntdll.dll + vista + 64-bit, etc. I found several NVIDIA related hits with other people having similar problems. Their solutions was to uninstall NVIDIA's Network Access Manager. I checked and sure enough I had installed that when I first brought the computer up. Tonight I uninstalled it and then checked Google Chrome. It worked great without crashing at all. Then I re-installed the 946 software and it also worked. Yay!
