Printer output quality issues on Dell system

Hi everyone,

I’m a regular user and not very technical, so I’m hoping to get some advice before making major changes.

I’m using a Dell system and recently noticed that my printer is printing, but the output doesn’t look right. Colors seem inconsistent and alignment looks slightly off compared to before. There are no error messages, and print jobs do go through normally.

I’ve already checked basic things like paper type, ink levels, and printer settings. Before reinstalling drivers or changing system configurations, I wanted to confirm whether the issue could be related to the printer itself or something on the system side.

To rule that out, I printed a basic test page directly from the browser using and the output looked normal, which makes me think this might be a driver or scaling issue.

If anyone has faced similar printer output problems on Dell systems, I’d appreciate any guidance on what to check next.

Thanks.

Run a local printer test page (i.e., not through the computer).  Just about any modern printer will have a self-test page.

If it's OK, it's a system problem.  If it shows the same issue, it's the printer.

As the test page prints well, the printer itself is oky. The driver or printer settings are probably the problem. Update and try to reinstall the printer driver, check the scaling and set to 100% and disabling the fit to page. Test the printing  with different app to see if it's app-related.
