Printer shows as removable disk
I'm running windows vista with Printer 942. When I plug my printer into the back of my computer via USB drive, it shows up in "My Computer" as a removable disk. I can't delete it, "eject" it, or explore it. Does anyone know why it would show up that way? It does exist under "My Printers", but I want to get rid of it as a drive since it isn't one. I uninstalled/reinstalled with no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Rich

rrabin,
Your printer has a USB port for connection to a camera (Picture Bridge) and a memory card slots which will accept a number of different memory card types. It is because of these features that your printer shows up as a removable disk. The same thing would happen if you attached a card reader to your system. The card reader would be visible as either a single removable disk with a single drive letter, or as several removable disks, each with their own drive letter. Exactly how it would appear on your computer would depend on the firmware of the card reader.
