Problems Connecting Wirelessly to Dell V515 All-in-one Printer

I installed the printer and it was working fine on all laptops and the desk top using the wireless network. I changed routers and now I cannot print. I un-installed the printer software but when it is re-installed it either does not detect the printer or doesn't even try. I have tried unistalling from the control panel and the Devices and Printers. After re-installing the software I can now only print by hooking up the cable. I am using Windows 7 on all computers.

danknuc,

Because you changed routers, the printer is trying to conect to your old router.

Make sure the new router is using these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features(add/remove programs), Dell V515w Printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

With the computer online, insert the Dell V515w Printer disk, choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. It will prompt you to connect the printer. Then ask for your network SSID and the password. Then follow the instructions.

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.

For other computers, run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs.

Start, control panel, programs and features(add/remove programs), Dell V515w Printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Withe the computer online, insert the Dell V515w Printer disk, choose additional computer, network and follow the instructions.

Rick,

I am having a similar problem after installing a new Belkin 600 router wirelessly on the desktop and printer downstairs. My laptop upstairs and separate wireless Dell V510 printer will not communicate with each other. I can connect to the internet with the laptop, just can't print to the wireless printer upstairs. I don't have the printer disks. How should I proceed?

Thanks for your help.

Donna

Donna,

The Belkin router does not know the difference between WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal) and WPA-AES.

Try using WEP Security, channel 1, 6 or 11 and mixed mode in your router. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier. (I use channel 11)

The printer will need setup like is was when first purchased.

Rick
