That was one of the first things I tried--it didn't help or didn't work I don't remember.  I checked the driver and that is the version I have installed (and giving the error)

sorry, got disconnected...
was saying to try installing a different printer other than Dell and see if this goes away...
otherwise, we'll have to learn to live with this error...

I think I got it...

On Windows AutoRun Programs (All users) there is a call for DLCJCATS...., which goes nowhere...

Just disable this call and the error is gone...
Tested several times and so far so good....

You can use any program that allows you to disable this thing (and other stuff that is there too).

I personally use X-Setup Pro, an updated version of the well known X-Setup...

I will be happy to know if this worked for you too!

Cheers,

Iggy

well... I guess I was too excited... have mix feelings now...
it's back...
if you are using Microsoft Antispyware (free from MS) it has ''advanced tools" where you can access all the startup files, included the one mentioned.  I am testing further and keep you posted...
thanks and sorry for the fuss...

Anyone have a free program that will do the same thing?  Dell upgraded my call to the 2nd tier 2 weeks ago.  They were supposed to call me back in 48 hours....still waiting!

*THE HINT FOR THE FIX IS TO SEARCH FOR THE FOLDER "DL_cats". THIS DELL 964 PROBLEM IS A LEXMARK "SPYWARE" ISSUE ? EACH TIME YOU PRINT A PAGE THE "DLCJCATS" ENTRY IS RENEWED IN THE REGISTRY FROM THIS FOLDER !  I MOVED THIS FOLDER TO MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE SO I CAN LOOK AT IT FROM TIME TO TIME TO REMEMBER ! CHECK OUT EACH AND EVERY FILE WITHIN THIS FOLDER SO YOU WILL LEARN. DEALING WITH THIS FOLDER WILL GIVE YOU GREAT PLEASE AND PUT "DELL SOFTWARE SUPPORT" TO SHAME !!!!!!! YEA !!!!!!!
