Scanning charts and tables...help!

HELP!!!

I am not very familiar with scanning images.  I have a Dell A920 and I am trying to scan some information to Word, but anything that has a table, chart, or fraction will  not scan correctly.  I have a major project due for school and of course it's all about fractions!!  Is there any way around this?  Is it just my scanner or will I have this problem on any scanner??

Would very much appreciate any help I can get on this issue.

THANKS

Have you tried going into your All-In-One printer page? There is an option on there to Copy and Scan. See if you can find what you are looking for.  Also go into Printers and Faxes right click on Printer and look at the Printing Perefences. Let me know it this works for you. Good Luck... Melissa    One more thing, go to your printer and see if there is a button that says SCAN  Select Software and go from there.....Melissa

Melissa,

Thanks for the response.  I have tried everything, but it seems that whatever I scan, I can't insert into a document.  I tried to do this at work and didn't have any problems.  Could it be that when I set up the scanner it wasn't set up correctly?  I can scan things, but when I try to insert them they come up as jibberish.  For now, I'm just doing my scanning at work!!  Great, since I had a 68 page project due and I couldn't complete it at home.  Oh well....if you have any other thoughts let me know.  Thanks again!!!
