Can you copy a document under the glass? Black & white and color?

Because your not using Dell Series 2 ink cartridges, I suspect them to be the problem. Some generic brands work and some don't.

If you unplug the printer from the wall and remove the power brick for 60 seconds, this will reset any error message the printer has. Then power on the printer and open it up. Try taking out the black Dell Series 2 ink cartridge and reseat it. Do the same for the color cartridge. Close the printer and it will try to print an alignment page.

Any error messages?

black cartridge = black side(left side)          color cartridge = color side(right side)

Photo cartridge = black side(left side)          color cartridge = color side(right side)

Dell Series 2 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. Article on refilling Dell ink cartridges.

Dell Series 2 ink cartridges can be purchased at Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

It's possible to get a Dell Series 2 ink cartridge with a bad sensor. I would that these back to the place of purchase for a replacement or a refund.

I really do not try to suggest the other brands in case they do not work, that way someone cannot say you told me they would work and they don't. I have seen other members refill the Dell Series ink cartridges and keep a spare cartridge around ready for when the print quality gets bad, then they pop in the other refilled cartridge. The cartridges will always give the low ink message until the sensor fails.

I used to purchase the high quality cartridges for a few dollars more from Dell's website and they lasted much longer.

Yes, I can copy B&W and color, but the quality is not what I am used to. Do you know personally of generic ink cartridges that work? All the years I've had this A960 I have used Dell cartridges, but they are so fantastically expensive I decided to try something else.
