Slow communications with Dell 3110cn printer

We have a 3110cn set up using the Dell wireless card. It is our default printer. When we upgraded to Vista Business, the communications between the printer and the network seem to have gotten really slow. It causes crashes in software, and slows Adobe CS2 to an absolute crawl. Everything speeds up when we set another printer as default, and the problem is consistent across all our computers. When we print to the 3110cn after it is no longer the default printer, it takes a while to connect and to print -- sometimes up to several minutes. It did not do this when we first upgraded, but we have not made any significant system changes on any of our boxes. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for the time and assistance.
