Check your system for viruses. Many will masquerade as legitimate services.

The spooler service is spoolsv, not spoolersv

After running your updated anti - virus, reinstall your printer driver

Make sure it's up to date first.

When did you get this problem? Have you tried system restore? If it still doesn't work, run SFC /scannow thru the run command to fix some registry.

I see. Now we know what caused it. If system restore won't work, well sfc /scannow might work. If not, Dimension 4600 shipped after July 16 ' 04 has a pcrestore capability. Might want to try another date for the system restore.

sfc /scannow = click START>RUN> then type sfc /scannow

If it asked for the winxp cd, just placed it in your cdrom drive.

PC Restore = at the DELL blue logo, hit CTRL F11. This will delete all your files and newly installed software though. It will bring your system back to its original factory settings. (back up your files first)

Just to be clear about things, sfc /scannow will not fix a corrupt registry. sfc will only check and replace damaged/missing XP system files. If the printer spooler service file has been damaged or deleted, sfc will replace it, but it won't do anything to fix a damaged registry.
