Trouble scanning a foreign language
Hello,
I have a 920 all-in-one Printer and I need to scan and edit several text documents in German. Since I must edit these documents I can't scan them as pictures. However, when I scan them as Word documents the scanner changes all characters it does not recognize into a familiar characters. Letters and punctuation unique in the German language are changed into something in the English language with a similar shape. So, here's the question: how can I scan German text to be opened in Word 07 without the alterations described above.
Thank you in advance for your help.

kurtzemple,
You should have an OCR Program installed on your computer, probably Abbyy Sprint Fine Reader. Open it and change the language to German from English.
Please remember to change it back when you're done.
Also make sure you have Word in the list of applications to send scans to. Update list of applications to send scans to

KZ,
Glad you got it working! :emotion-21: Thanks for posting back. Please remember to change it back to English, especially if someone else tries to scan something to Work, Works, that way they will not wonder what is happening.
Take care,
Rick
