I have a 3300 attached to my 964 and here's the way I corrected this.
Update the firmware in your wireless router. Manufacturer's website, make & Model needed.
Broadcast SSID(You may want to change this to make it easier to connect)
Use WPA security
Mixed b and g mode(n if available)
Use channels 1, 6 or 11. Most devices work better on these channels.
Save and exit. Power everything off for 30 seconds. Power everything back on, wait 30 seconds, now try to connect.
Attach the 3300 to your computer using the USB Cable and insert the 3300 disk. Follow the instructions. It should ask you for the network ID, type of security and password.
I did all that, and when I put in the cd for the 3300 drivers, it stops me cold with a warning that says it can't find the printer router/please disconnect and reconnect all connections. I did. It just doesn't recognize it. Leads me to think I have a 3300 that just stopped working. Any other ideas or suggestions?
The router was finally recognized, but when I try to install the printer software, I get to a screen where it tells me a scan can be done from my named computer, and they want a pin # for security. I do this, and hit next, but after a couple of minutes, it tells me it can't register the name and pin at this time, Try agin later. After many trys, nothing....any ideas?
I tried typing in the wrong pin number and the printer does display an error message telling me that. I also tried sending a scan to another computer, that was offline and it never tell me the error you quoted. It just scans and the give me the default list of applications(clipboard, E-mail and file), just like it used to before I changed the security to WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security, mixed b and g mode(n if available) and using channels 1, 6 or 11.
You did update the firmware in your 964 printer? It had scanning issues that were corrected in the firmware update.
After you get the 3300 setup, and attached to the printer, power everything (modem, wireless router, 3300 and the printer for 30 seconds. Turn on the modem, wait 15 seconds, turn on the wireless router, wait 15 seconds, turn on the printer, wait 15 seconds, then turn on the 3300)
Do all three lights light on the 3300? If not, then it's possible the 3300 may have failed. Try connecting the printer to a usb port and see if you can try scanning using the Dell All-In-One Center.

Attach the 3300 to the computer and try installing the latest firmware for the 3300. Then setup the 3300 and see if it works. You can also try using the setup Utility for the 3300.
