Won't Scan On Network

Question

We just got the Dell Multifunction Color Laser Printer 3115cn. We put it on our network. It will print from different computers, but we can't get it to scan documents. I've tried using the dell printer configuration web tool as described in the manual...well not exactly as described, because the manual has really poor english. 'Form the configuration web tool'??? form it with what? playdough? 'select network connection form the control panel' What would you like me to form it from? Maybe they really mean 'from' when they say 'form.' Anyway, even following the directions assuming that they mean from whenever they say form, it still doesn't work. Form a reply anyone?

obtw..... if your intent is to initiate a network scan from the PC, that is not supported. Network Scans can only be initiated from the printer control panel.

You can only print over the network - not scan, since you need to hav ethe printer control panel open to scan.

If the Server Address book is setup correctly, you can indeed initiate a network scan from the printer to be sent to a PC or Server that was established in the Server Address book.

I have one sitting here right behind me and I do this regularly.

Hello Llynster, can you help me. I too am trying to connect my apple with a Dell 3115CN (scanner) and have no idea how to do this. I cannot find anything to assist me and would be grateful for any help you could give me.
