Adding contacts in Outlook 2007

I just upgraded three users to new Dell Vostros including Office 2007. And I am extremely unhappy with this new Office. I'm going to avoid all the complaints I have and just go right to a problem. In Outlook 2007, I cannot add contacts from emails. The help says just click right on a From Name and select Add to Contacts. This does not work anywhere on any message. This problem could be related to upgrading from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007. I just exported everything from 2003 to a PST file and imported the PST file into 2007. Is there something I missed or something special I should have done???

Before you right click on a sender, select Check Names and the sender will be underlined. Then right click and Add to contacts. If you are not sure you need to add it, select Look up contact. You cannot click "anywhere in an email." Right Click on the From line in the email.

Mary ... thanks for your answer ... I may just be dim today ... or maybe I'm just too disgusted at this pile of totally useless applications called Office 2007 .... but the only place I see "check names" is in a send window to check for valid email addresses when sending. I can't find it anywhere else that would help with adding contacts to the address book. Where exactly are you selecting "check names"??

It's on the toolbar in Outlook 2003 and I'm not sure about that "ribbon" in 2007. If you right click on the From line, do you get a similiar choice or can you customize the toolbar menu to add it? Many of the features of 2007 have the same choices as 2003, but they are well hidden. Try OL help and search for "Adding Contacts" and it will search online. There is a MS newsgroup that is very helpful with MVP's answering questions here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public.outlook.general&lang=en&cr=US Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
