Current ATI driver by dell not supporting Open GL 3.1

Hello good sir's/madam's i do not know if im posting in the right section but i have a problem. I recently fixed my dell inspiron 1545 desktop performance issue that i was having which drops rating from 4.5 to 3.8, so the problem im about to tell you is tricky. I have a game called Brink and it needs a driver which supports Open GL 3.1 now many of you would say go to ATI site and download latest drivers to play it but if i do that the ones from ATI site drivers drops my desktop performance rating from 4.5 to 3.8 and the only solution was to install ATI drivers supported by Dell site but these drivers from Dell does not support Open GL 3.1 because the drivers i believe are outdated i don't want to brag but i really want to play this game on my laptop but cannot do that while the current driver does not support Open GL 3.1 so i ask or plea any of you for assistance in this current  problem at hand.

Properly functioning OpenGL support is all but non-existent in current AMD (ATI) video drivers.

Dell will be releasing an updated AMD (ATI) video driver real soon. They are working through some issues that are AMD's fault. Hopefully, it will include proper support for OpenGL, but AMD has not provided good OpenGL support for some time now. OpenGL is not a new technology... it's an old one and there's no excuse for it not being fully supported by AMD.

I recently switched from 6990M CrossFire to GTX 580M SLI on my M18x and older games that would not run or ran poorly with the AMD cards (including the older AMD cards on my M17x R2) run flawlessly with the NVIDIA cards.

You'll find a group of us waiting for the updated driver hanging out on the following forum:

***Updated AMD Driver release scheduled by Dell shortly***

Thank you for your answer BJFox. Hmm this is troublesome indeed well then only one question remains - is there by any chance an upcoming update to the ATI driver in the Dell site?
