DDPM settings greyed out
I use my monitor U4025QW for both my work laptop and home PC, and use the KVM switch via hotkeys to go from one to the other.
Lately the DDPM greys out, which stops the KVM from working and and I have to restart my PC, which is really annoying to have to do when I have multiple programs etc running. The only option that stays blue (and thus I can access) is the Easy Arrange.
The laptop is running an older version and doesn't have this issue.
I've tried searching online, also tried closing the application via task manger etc, basically anything I can think of. The issue still persists, and it's not when the computer goes to sleep either, sometimes I'll come back a few hours later, the screen saver is on but the computer is awake, and it still does this.
Is there any fix?

Hi Jaekus:
You might find some helpful information in GlobalEngineer's 16-Mar-2025 DDPM 2.0.0.72 won't start after install in the Productivity Software board of this forum. The 14-Jul-2025 post <here> in that topic by the OP GlobalEngineer indicated Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM) v2.1.0.20 and v2.1.023 both worked as expected on their Latitude 5520 / Win 10 Pro machine.
If you have the current DDPM v2.1.0.24 (rel. 15-Jul-2025) and it still isn't working correctly I'd suggest you post in GlobalEngineer's topic since that topic is being monitored by Dell employee @DELL-Nat M . Be sure to include your Windows OS and other system information requested <here> by DELL-Nat M.

@lmacri thanks for the suggestion. I've read through the thread but those issues are unrelated to what I'm experiencing. There is no mention of options being greyed out or KVM being disabled.

Just bumping this as I've had only one reply, and the issue is still ongoing.

Hi Jaekus:
Just an FYI that Dell employee DELL-ChrisM2 pinned a new topic at the top of the Productivity Software board on 13-Sep-2025 titled FAQ Windows OS DDM and DDPM. There is a link in that post to the full FAQ <here> with that same title that includes a download link for the latest Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM) v2.1.1.12 (rel. 25-Aug-2025) as well as instructions on how to run the built-in DDPM diagnostics.
You've posted your question in the SupportAssist for PCs board of this forum, which is intended for questions about the Dell SupportAssist for Home PCs software, so it might make more sense if you re-post you question in the Productivity Software board. That seems to be the board where most DDPM users post their questions, and there's a better chance that @DELL-Nat M or one of the other Dell employees will notice your topic and offer assistance if you post there.

Hi Imacri,
Thanks for that. I've checked the documentation and there isn't any mention of the issue I'm experiencing, and I am running the latest version.
I wasn't aware of the other board, so I'll ask in there. Cheers.

Hi Jaekus,
Recently I bought a Dell mornitor U4924DW and came across the exactly same problem as the one in your post. I have approached to Dell expert and I am bit disappointed that they couldn't fix it.
I am just wondering if yours has been sovled.
Thanks,
Bin

@Bin_ thanks for your comment.
No, no one from Dell has repsonded to me at all. A bit disappointing to say the least. I was even told my post had been moved to a different section so it would receive more attention, but so far you're the first person in a couple months to coment.
It would be nice if someone from Dell could follow up, given the price of the monitor and it being a key feature that I now have limited ability to use, due to their software.

Same as you, I invested more than AUD$2,000 on this huge monitor mainly because of this feature. I am very disappointed about Dell's passive response. Nobody would agree the issue is super complicated for the technical giant Dell. Really hope an expert from Dell could address it.

ditto: same issue on U3425WE. works fine one 1 machine (hdmi) and greyed out on other (thunderbolt).
running latest version 2.1.2.12 at time of post
you had not mentioned, but the button 'restore to default' only appears on the machine with the issue. selecting it gives a confirm prompt, but no settings are restored/reset.

Pretty much the same here as with 'canuf'. In my case, with a C3422WE and one computer connected to DisplayPort and one to Thunderbolt. DDPM version is 2.1.2.12.
Sometimes the KVM function works for a short time, but suddenly the defined hotkey switches the monitor (from DP to Thunderbolt) but not the keyboard and mouse.
When you open DDPM, the KVM option is grayed out.
Have there been any developments—perhaps even a solution?
thanks and regards, Beat
