U4025QW, DDPM settings grayed out except Easy Arrange

I use my monitor U4025QW for both my work laptop and home PC, and use the KVM switch via hotkeys to go from one to the other. Lately the DDPM greys out, which stops the KVM from working and and I have to restart my PC, which is really annoying to have to do when I have multiple programs etc running. The only option that stays blue (and thus I can access) is the Easy Arrange. The laptop is running an older version and doesn't have this issue.

I've tried searching online, also tried closing the application via task manger etc, basically anything I can think of. The issue still persists, and it's not when the computer goes to sleep either, sometimes I'll come back a few hours later, the screen saver is on but the computer is awake, and it still does this. Is there any fix?

All should contact Dell GHN (Get Help Now) chat technical support Monday through Friday. Click the blue "Get Help Now" on the right to start a private live chat session. Share the private monitor Service Tag with them so that they can verify the ownership and warranty status. This will also generate a unique Technical Support case for your unique Service Tag.

All should check the respective monitor model Drivers & Downloads page to verify if there is a new firmware to install. The currently installed firmware is listed in either =

Menu--> More Information-->Display Info
-or-
Menu--> Others--> Firmware

Go HERE and insert you monitor private Service Tag to see the current warrant status. Click Drivers & Downloads to see if there is a newer firmware to install.

Hi Jaekus:

You might find some helpful information in GlobalEngineer's 16-Mar-2025 DDPM 2.0.0.72 won't start after install in the Productivity Software board of this forum. The 14-Jul-2025 post <here> in that topic by the OP GlobalEngineer indicated Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM) v2.1.0.20 and v2.1.023 both worked as expected on their Latitude 5520 / Win 10 Pro machine.

If you have the current DDPM v2.1.0.24 (rel. 15-Jul-2025) and it still isn't working correctly I'd suggest you post in GlobalEngineer's topic since that topic is being monitored by Dell employee @DELL-Nat M .  Be sure to include your Windows OS and other system information requested <here> by DELL-Nat M.

@lmacri thanks for the suggestion. I've read through the thread but those issues are unrelated to what I'm experiencing. There is no mention of options being greyed out or KVM being disabled.

Hi Imacri,

Thanks for that. I've checked the documentation and there isn't any mention of the issue I'm experiencing, and I am running the latest version.

I wasn't aware of the other board, so I'll ask in there. Cheers.

Hi Jaekus,

Recently I bought a Dell mornitor U4924DW and came across the exactly same problem as the one in your post. I have approached to Dell expert and I am bit disappointed that they couldn't fix it.

I am just wondering if yours has been sovled.

Thanks,

Bin

@Bin_ thanks for your comment.

No, no one from Dell has repsonded to me at all. A bit disappointing to say the least. I was even told my post had been moved to a different section so it would receive more attention, but so far you're the first person in a couple months to coment.

It would be nice if someone from Dell could follow up, given the price of the monitor and it being a key feature that I now have limited ability to use, due to their software.

Same as you, I invested more than AUD$2,000 on this huge monitor mainly because of this feature. I am very disappointed about Dell's passive response. Nobody would agree the issue is super complicated for the technical giant Dell. Really hope an expert from Dell could address it.

ditto: same issue on U3425WE. works fine one 1 machine (hdmi) and greyed out on other (thunderbolt).
running latest version 2.1.2.12 at time of post

you had not mentioned, but the button 'restore to default' only appears on the machine with the issue. selecting it gives a confirm prompt, but no settings are restored/reset.

Pretty much the same here as with 'canuf'. In my case, with a C3422WE and one computer connected to DisplayPort and one to Thunderbolt. DDPM version is 2.1.2.12.

Sometimes the KVM function works for a short time, but suddenly the defined hotkey switches the monitor (from DP to Thunderbolt) but not the keyboard and mouse.

When you open DDPM, the KVM option is grayed out.

Have there been any developments—perhaps even a solution?

thanks and regards, Beat

I have the exact same issue happening with my U4025QW: 2 laptops connected (personal Mac and work Windows), and the DDPM only works well on the Mac. On the Windows laptop, all options greyed out except ‘Easy Arrange’.

This has been going on for a while now, I contacted Dell support but never got a conclusive feedback. Always hope this will magically fet fixed in a new release, which never happens…

Same problem.

None of the suggestions found online works.

Have Displayport input from graphic card, USB input from computer to monitor's upstream USB connection (No 8 in U2723QE manual).

This has worked before with DDPM 2.0.1.16

- Monitor U2723QE
- Windows 11 on MB Asus ProArt Creator WiFi
- Graphic card Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB Gaming OC.

Both cables properly connected.

Reinstalled DDPM 2.0.1.16
Monitor was identified and services running again but application froze when clicking the monitor icon.

Reinstalled DDPM 2.0.2.11
Cable icon under Monitor image.
Options greyed out.

Upgraded to DDPM 2.2.0.19
Cable icon under Monitor image.
Options greyed out.

OSD settings:
Input Source DP
Auto Select ON (Display not identified if OFF)
DDC/CI ON

What to do now?

Update on previous post:

Have a dual boot with Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Tried DDPM 2.2.0.19 on Win 10 and it works perfectly, so it seem to be a Windows 11 problem !?

Update 2 on previous:

Found solution for my system (Win11, U2723QE, GPU Gigabyte Radeon RX 7800 XT) on Reddit:

Dell Display Manager 2.3 - Settings all greyed out : r/Dell

(Scroll down to lilnasty954)

Downgraded the GPU driver to AMD Adrenalin edition 25.12.1 and the DDPM works on Windows 11.

Don't know if this helps guys with other systems but maybe a hint where to check.

This solution worked for me.  Something buggy in the v26.1.1 AMD Adrenalin drivers.

@mi00im @Wildman_CAL Thanks for following up on this thread! Good news! AMD just released version 26.2.2 (release notes). It's an optional update they made available on 2/26/2026, and it finally fixed the issue for us Radeon RX 7800 XT users.
