Dell Backup and Recovery after a clean install

Hello

I have an Inspiron 15z (5523) Ultrabook.

I did a clean install of Windows 10, which obviously wiped my apps, settings and data. However, I had done a backup of these so all fine...except for the Dell Backup and Recovery program itself that was installed originally on the PC.

This is no longer on my system it seems and I would like to know if I can get it back so that I can use it anew for backup and recovery. I couldn't find a download.

Thanks

You have to download and install it from Dell Downloads. However--to do a clean install of the free windows 10 upgrade, you must first upgrade the normal way while windows is installed and running. After the upgrade and activation online a clean install can be done. Before doing anything--check windows 10 for activation. If you did not do the upgrade first to qualify for the free offer, you will have to reinstall windows 8.1 and upgrade again.

The only other option is to buy the license for win 10 at the Store.

Not with TH2 installation media. This was a limitation of TH1 only.

It is possible to install Dell Backup and Recovery on A Clean Install. It will create a pseudo Recovery partition from your clean install. This pseudo image won't give you the entire Windows installation setup like in a real factory image:

However this pseudo Recovery Partition will be obsolete when the next build of Windows 10 is released. I demonstrated this in TH1 but as mentioned the Recovery partition was obsolete when TH2 came out.
