Dell Backup and Recovery will not run
I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro. I am unable to get Dell Backup And Recovery to run to do a backup. I can open the software and it checks for space needed and gives me to option to choose my USB drive. It is connected by a Dell OTG cable.
I choose the USB as restore media. Freshly formatted NTFS 16 GB memory stick. When I choose "Continue" My screen goes grey, like the backup is working, but hours later same thing no backup is being done.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the backup software. Newest version 1.9.1.3
Any advice?

Though it may sound silly I'd try a different USB stick.

No joy. A different thumb drive did not help.

Are you certain you still have the recovery partition?

Thank you for the help ieee488. Disk management shows a 5.13GB partition as well as a 750MB partition both show as Healthy (Recovery Partition) Both on Disk 0 same as my C: drive.
I may have found something that is causing trouble. I tried using Dell Backup and restore to do a system recovery. It has an option to do a "Smart Repair" When I chose Smart Repair it triggers a restart. On restart I get a Recovery Error message that says My PC needs repaired pointing to a file "File:\windows\system32\winload.efi" Error code:0xc000000f
I have just enough time to read the message and then it goes off to a black screen and I have to restart the tablet again. It will then start and run normally. But I am unable to do a system restore or a backup.

Also, I am unable to find that file in file explorer. I do have folder options set to show system files and hidden files.

You may want to post on the mobile devices forum and see if the users there will have any ideas.
