Dell DataSafe Local Back up upgrade to Pro

About a year ago I upgraded the basic program which came pre installed with my Studio XPS 435 MT which I haved used satisfactorily. However, when I tried to do a full back up yesterday the program seems to have reverted to basic! It would not allow me to access the upgrade saying it could not identify my system. I uninstalled the program and downloaded the basic installation again but when I press the grey button for "upgrade by phone if you have a licence" nothing happens. I still have the licence for the pro edition. Can anyone suggest a solution. Many thanks. I need to do a full back up as Dell are replacing my desktop due to a TV tuner fault. Is there a simpler way to transfer my existing programs accross to the new computer without reinstalling and updating every program?

The upgrade was only good for one year. It is sold as a yearly subscription. If you have Windows 7, use windows Backup and Restore and an external hard drive to save backups and system images instead.

Many thanks. I have looked again at the offer and the confirmation E Mail but nowhere does it suggest that it is an annual subscription. What a rip off! I will follow your advice and use Windows Back up in future. Thanks for clarifying the  position for me.
