Dell Dock in Windows 7

Maybe someone can assist me. I have the Dell Dock installed on my desktop computer. On my desktop I have a personal folder where I keep my databases, spreadsheet and personal files. I would like to drag this folder into an icon on the Dell Dock. When I drag it into the icon on the Dell Dock the folder goes into the icon but also remains on my desktop. How can I remove or hide the folder that is left on my desktop.

Are you sure it's the actual folder or just a shortcut to the real folder? Check the properties by right clicking on it. It's most likely a shortcut that you can move to another folder or delete. Desktop is actually a folder. Open Windows Explorer to see the list of folders. Desktop will be at the top of the list. Shortcut to open Explorer-- Windows Key + E on the keyboard or just click on the folder icon on the bottom left of the toolbar.

Domino50,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

Right click on the DellDock bar and go to Advanced Settings then to Setting Data. From there click on Move Desktop Shortcuts to Dock. It will then open up and let you choose the ones you want to move.

Hi Jesse - The folder on my Desktop is 3.45 gb in size. This folder contains all my Spreadsheets, Databases, Pictures, Etc, from my previous computer. I can drag it into the dock but cant delete it due to the important stuff it contains. Is there a way to move this folder as I understand the shortcut to it would be in the dock. Can I move this master folder to My Documents. Would that hide it from the desktop?
