I have the same issue. Matter of fact, I have not been able to use the thing. If I turn my computer on, it comes on automatically and just sits there looking at me. I unpinned it from my startup,  yet I cannot use it. I called Dell, they have not answer. All I am told is that is a free software and may have expired-go figure

OK just to clarify:

MediaDirect is a software that resides on a small partition on certain Dell laptops that allows the user to play DVDs, audio CDs, etc without having to boot all the way into Windows.
Now Dell Media Experience is an application that you can used to play DVDs and audio CDs, but in Windows environment.  When you press MediaDirect buttom in Windows Dell Media Experience should work (if is installed).

Hello, Dell Media experience was sent me with a CD by Dell. It is different program from Dell Media direct. You can get that CD from Dell.

Also, I have a problem with installing Dell Media direct. Dell sent me a CD for this, it installs not the way of written on the forum for example partition size, and doesn't work after installing. Please can you write me the CD name and versions, also what includes on the CD to compare with me? I am going to request the CD again. Thanks
