Leoliver,

What were the error messages you were getting?

I hear the system info configuration is coming back in the beginning of August. To be confirmed.

The system configuration utility on support.dell.com problem can be fixed.
Try this and see if it works:

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options. On the General Tab, under the Temporary Internet Files section, click the "Settings" button. Next, click the "View Objects" button. This should render a window titled "Downloaded Program Files".  If you see an item titled "SysProWmi Class", delete it, then close all browsers. Finally, reconnect and try System Profiler again.

There is no emergency channel visible within the application, but it is active behind the scenes.

Once you install DS3 it will update and get the latest updates. Before this update, you will not have all the latest content information and settings most likely.

Hope this helps.

I was going to try some of the tweaks you suggested, and re-install Dell Support 3.0 . But frist I decided to uninstall Dell Support 2.0 . I went to add/remove programs, clicked on remove Dell support 2.0, and the windows uninstaller would start and then cancel itself leaving Support 2.0 on my computer. I tried this several times with the same result. I tried removing another program, just to see if the uninstaller was working correctly, and it sucessfully removed the program which I then reinstalled. Any ideas how I can remove Dell support 2.0 from my computer, before I try Support 3.0 again. Thanks.

No it didn't work. I had the same problems with Dell support 3.0 . So I once again removed 3.0, and reinstalled 2.0, so I could use the "current system configuration" utlity. Based on my experience I would say that 2.0 is better than 3.0 . Just because the software is newer dosen't mean it's better.
