DVD/CD-ROM Drive not recognized by computer (Code 19)

Question

I have a DELL E510 Dimension Desktop Computer which has a Optiarc DVD+-RWND-3570A (DVD/CD-ROM Drive). I tried to play a CD in the drive today but, I got this message: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the Registry) is incomplete or damaged (CODE 19). I went to other repair programs to try to repair, (CD/Reading and Writing Module) and found these issues listed: Device is not working properly (Optiarc DVD+-RWND-3570A) detected! Media in CD/DVD Drive is not readable (Optiarc DVD+- RWND-3570A) detected! I just recently deleted 'Sonic Activation Module' entirely from the computer, and probably some other stuff that I don't know about, so don't know is that had anything to do with it or not. I do know that I cannot play a CD, DVD, Music or anything because the computer does not recognize the CD Drive. Everytime I insert any of these and close the drive. A message appears telling me to insert a CD, etc.

Generally that is a Registry Filter corruption. It could have been caused by what you deleted in Sonic (Roxio) as they are known for this or just a common Windows XP caused corruption.

If this does not take care of the problem, repost in the DISK DRIVE section of the forum - the forum section for CD/DVD drive problems.
