Excel File will Not Open

This problem has just started recently.  If I click on an excel file it would normally open up.  Now it will not open unless I have physically open Excel Page for it to see.  Any suggestions?  I have already tried "repair MS Office".

You appaently need to "associate" Excel files with Excel.  With Windows XP, if you RIGHT click on an Excel file then left click on Open With, it will bring up a panel and you can select Excel as the program to open with, and there is a box to check to always use the selected program to open this type of file.  That should set Excel files to open with Excel again.
