Export/import e-mails from one Outlook 2003 program to another

Hi. I am running two computers, one laptop, one desktop. The desktop is an older Dell Dimension 4400, running Outlook 2003. My newer laptop is also running Outlook 2003. I want to transfer the e-mails on my desktop to my laptop, and import them into Outlook 2003 on that machine.

Is there a straightforward way to do this? I've searched the forums, and the Microsoft Office Online Help and Support sites, and can't find anything specific. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Many thanks in advance for your help. - Randy

rreichar,

Open Outlook on the desktop and go to File|Import and Export|Export to a file|Personal Folder File (.pst) and export to removable media such as a CD.

On the laptop open Outlook and go to File|Import and Export|Import from another program or file|Personal Folder File (.pst), browse to the location of your exported file on CD, select the items you wish to import, and click "Finish."

Denny: Many thanks for your kind help and guidance. I used a USB key, exported the necessary folders and sub-folders from "Personal Folders" to the key, and imported them to my laptop. There were no problems, everything went fine.

Again, thank you so much for your help. - Randy
