Exporting Reports to Excel in Access 2007

I'm still on the bottom of the learning curve for this upgrade (too many changes)

 

I exported the report as XML, then opened the file in Excel - that seems to work, but not as straight forward as the Analyze it with Excel feature in 2003.

 

 

I hate the new Access look at the moment though I am slowly getting used to it.  I'll try that option, though the clients the excel files ultimately go to do not have excel 2007 at the moment.  I suppose I could resave within an excel --   but oh what a pain they've made this.

 

I'd just be happy if I could get compact and repair to work on a networked drive (see my other post).  :)
