GX270 shut down issue

Question

I addressed this same computer recently here but called it a hibernation issue. I don't think it is a hibernation issue now because the tower is just shutting down. More often than not,she is in Outlook. I logged onto this computer and just surfed the web for about 15 minutes and it never shut down. Could this be an Outlook error? We have replaced the video card already. It is running Windows 2000.   I was just told there was a recall on this model involving the mother board. perhaps this is it.

I believe that may very well be the issue. I was told there was a recall because of that.

no - there is not a recall in effect. dell will however replace the motherboard (if affected by the capactior issue) regardless of warranty status.

Ok. Well, regardless of the terminology, chances are good it is a motherboard issue and Dell is taking care of it.

I believe dell wil replace the motherboard until 1/1/2007 so get moving on the replacement order
