hyperlinks NOT automatically created in Outlook 2003

Question

By default, Outlook 2003 is supposed to create a hyperlink whenever a web address, URL, is typed in an email. This does not happen for me and hasn't since I started using Outlook two months ago. I've searched every setting I can find but no luck. I have not altered the default settings. 'Help' only says that the default is for Outlook to create automatic hyperlinks but not what to do if that doesn't happen. I'm greatful for any help anyone can offer. I need hyperlinks! Thank you.

Change your settings in OL. In Tools, options, Mail Format, Internet Format, Check 'when an html message....etc.' Also uncheck the setting on security tab: Change auto download setting button, uncheck 'don't download pictures...etc.'

Thanks for the reply! Check 'when an html message....etc.' is already checked. I changed auto downloading setting to unchecked. Still no automatic hyperlinks. Hummmm.

Are you using HTML format? That's the only way to have automatic hyperlinks.
