Hello,

I'm having a problem with my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate L502X (Dell XPS 15) system.  When my system boots, I get a message saying I'm running an older version and I should reboot to get the new version of FastAccess - Tray.

Ah, I've rebooted 4 times and I still am getting the error message.  The message keeps appearing about 30 seconds after I dismiss it PLUS the system seems either hung or very slow when the message is on the screen.  Once I dismiss the dialog box, the system picks up and runs but then when the message about old version and rebooting appears it again hangs and/or slows down.

I use the manual update feature and it doesn't report a new version (at least it doesn't try to download / report a new version).  Yet, when the system comes up I get a Tray Alert Configuration error about the Tray software being old, etc.

Please advise.

Bert.

What specific version of FastAccess do you have installed now?

Obviously you should not be getting repeated messages like that so a de-install and re-install is likely in order. I would expect some kind of corrupted Windows registry key as the cause but it's hard to tell.

If you can provide the full version number then I should be able to tell you if it's really current or not.

I'm having the exact same problem on my Son's L502X (Dell XPS 15).  It pops up every 30 seconds and the system is crawling performance wise.  One thought is to start "msconfig" and remove the program from the start list.  My concern in doing this is how necessary or useful is this program from Dell.

Can anyone from Dell help us on this issue, please?

If you're getting incorrect reports to reboot, something is corrupt and a re-install is in order. Definitely do NOT disable through msconfig. That will break FastAccess entirely. If you're not getting help from Dell, please write to Sensible Vision directly and we'd be happy to assist with getting a replacement  installer. Knowing the version you're working with will be key.

How did you uninstall it from your pc? I've tried very which way and it's not going anywhere! Googled questions regarding it and it seems that many people are having trouble getting it off their pcs!

This is Sensible Vision, the makers of FastAccess. The standard Windows uninstall in the Windows Control Panel will remove FastAccess. If you have any questions on how to do this, please contact us and we will be glad to help. This forum won’t allow us to include emails or websites, just go to sensiblevision (dot com) and then click support. Click Windows support and you will be able to email us directly. If your PC has the Dell Digital Delivery program, you will want to uncheck “FastAccess” in this program. Otherwise FastAccess will be reinstalled by Dell Digital Delivery. Finally if you have any questions or issues with FastAccess, our support team will be very happy to assist with a complete resolution to your satisfaction.
