I never received the disks. When I got the computer a year ago, I called about the disks. I was told they don't send them out any more. Now when I call about the key, they are telling me that they can't send me the disk because my computer is less than 1 month out of warranty. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. If I should have received the disks in the first place, they are rightfully mine. They are telling me the only way they are going to send me the disk is if I pay for an extended warranty. It sounds like they are just trying to get more money out of me. This is my second Dell and if they don't send me my disks, or help me resolve this issue, it will be my last.
You only have a certain limited time to request missing CD's. This has been posted many times on this forum. After that, most times Dell will not replace them. When this happens as it is in your case, your only option is to buy a retail copy of Office.
And, as it's been noted on this forum, the Student and Teacher's edition of Office is your least expensive option.
It won't cost me anything. I've asked about these disk twice while my warranty was still good...when I got the computer and in January when I was having problems with my computer. I told them then I didn't get my disks. They sent me the disk to reinstall Windows...why didn't they just send me all the disks I should have gotten in the first place.
When I called when I got the computer, they told me that they don't send them out anymore and to make a copy off my computer. Apparently that was a lie.
