Microsoft Word CD-Key

Recently we had a problem on our computer and my dad had to erase the hard drive to fix it. When time came for me to write my next report(I'm a high school sophmore) I recieved the following message asking me for the CD Key to on the Jewl case to word. So I look for the jewl case and find a CD in its paper envalope that is part of Microsoft Works Suite 2001. There is no CD key anywhere on the envalope or any of the other envalopes in the series. None of the other programs in Works Suite have this problem and all run properly without asking for a CD key.

Thank you in adavanced for any help you may have

The 25-character key code for Word 2000 appears on the front cover of the small Microsoft book titled, Discovering Microsoft Word 2000. It's above the bar code label at the bottom right corner of the book. This book would have been enclosed with all other documentation.  You might check for any similar book that you received with your system for MS Word 2001.

In the event you do not have this book, call Dell Software Support at 800-433-9005. Take the Service Tag phone option. Once Dell verifies that you are the legal owner of the system, they will provide a generic product key code For Word 2001. You will not be charged for this information.  Dell can only furnish generic key codes prior to 2002 applications.
