At this point I'll have to assume your Dimension 4600 with Windows XP included MS Office applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. Depending on your selections when you installed Works Suite on the 4600, there may, or may not, be two versions of Word on this system. If so, this can result in a conflict with respect to MS Word.

In any event you might want to review MS KB Article 292448 or 324628 concerning this error message.

Eleanor,

Thanks for the information, but I didn't make myself clear the Miscrosoft Office 2000 came with my older Dell computer with Windows me and it include Works,Word,Picture It,Money,Encarta and Home Publishing and nothing else.

My new Dell computer came with Corel Wordperfect Programs and I wanted to install the Microsoft Office programs on this computer as I know how to use them and no nothing about Corel Wordperfect.

I did go to the web site that you suggested and printer out the information but I really don't understand it at all. I won't give up however, still reading and trying to understand the information. Did download the MDAC Componet Checker and ran it and it said this: The following Product release were matched : MDAC 2.7 SP1 on Windows XP SP 1 .........................

      Whatever that means

Any help you can recommend will be welcome I'll asure you

As I mentioned in my prior post, the MS Office application includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Based upon your information in the above post, you have Works Suite 2000, not Office 2000. The applications included in Works Suite 2000 are Word 2000, Works Word Processor (hidden by default), Works Spreadsheet, Works Database, Works Calendar and Address Book, Encarta Encyclopedia, Money, Home Publishing, Picture It! Express, Expedia Streets & Trips. Office and Works Suite are two entirely different applications. One could consider Works Suite a stripped-down version of Office. They are not related in any way, except for the MS Word.

A search using the 1919 error message you are receiving produced only two Microsoft Knowledge Base articles that I furnished in my prior post.

Eleanor, Thanks so much, you are right it is called Works Suite 2000 and not office. I'm not that good at correcting problems, but I will still keep trying. Thanks very much for your help, every little bit helps to learn what or how to correct problems.

Respectfully
