MS Office 2010 Professional

I have a fairly new XPS 435T and I was purchased Office 2010 Professional on it. I was wanting to install Publisher and some other items that did not come preinstalled for me. When I go to the Office Anyime Upgrade shortcut and follow the prompts, enter in my key, no matter if I click install or customize, nothing happens. So I am at a point where I paid for a product that I cannot even use at the moment. Is there something I am missing or what?

Hi, Did you get a disc with the system, if so, then search the disc for Publisher. The reason being, the Office Professional comes with Publisher already in it.

See HERE, I have Professional Plus, and have that application in it.

Installing Publisher is not an upgrade. It's included in Office professional. I think that's the problem. Have you tried Office Help? Did you type Publisher in the Start box and see if it offers to install it? There's a possibility that you got the wrong office suite or you started using the free Starter Edition that comes on all new computers instead of your Office Pro. Check your All Programs list for Office programs. You should contact Dell Support. Office Pro is a very expensive addon--$499 retail and $349 as an addon. Check your invoice to see what you were charged.

PS I've noticed that the Sales site mentions that the Office disk is not included now with new computers and purchased Office suites. I wonder how that works. You might ask about this when you contact Support. How do you reinstall on a new drive and how do you know what your Activation Key is? Check for a sticker on the computer case or paperwork.

I figured it out finally. I had to go into Control Panel and select Uninstall a program, then chose MS Office and Change. This allowed me to do what I was wanting.

However your problem is fixed now, i want to say that when you choose upgrading office, you can upgrade the installed programs and also you can select the new programs to be installed if the version you are using has it on its pack. So you wanted publisher and it was not available on your default pack and its clear that you should totally unisntall the previous version and install new one.
