Outlook 2000 showing personal folders twice

My folder list shows my personal folders twice and I can't get rid of the second instance. It says I can't delete my personal folders.

This problem was caused when I opened my outlook.pst file that I had copied from my old computer.

I have tried uninstalling outlook and reinstalling, but that hasn't helped.

Lets try removing one of the Personal Folders.

Click on Tools and select Services.

(If you do not see Services, from the Tools menu click on Options and then click on the Mail Delivery Tab, click Reconfigure Mail Support in the lower right corner and switch to Corporate or Workgroup. You will need you Office CD disk 1 to do this)

After clicking on Services you should see two Personal Folders. If both Personal Folders have the same information in Outlook, then select one and remove it. If not then check the Properties for each Personal Folder and note the path. The path will have the name of the PST file the Personal Folder is using. All information, Contacts, E-mails, Calendars and Tasks, are stored in the PST file. After finding the name of the PST file, search for all the PST files on your computer and check their size, then remove the folder with the smallest PST file.

Thanks loads. The second personal folder actually went away by itself as soon as reconfigured mail support to workgroup.

It's better to post a new question that reply to an old one. But this might help: Chose Folder View, figure out which personal folder is the extra, right click on it and chose Close.
