Outlook "Can't Contact LDAP Server Error 81"
Hi,
I just put a new hard drive in my sister's computer and installed Windows XP and Office XP. Spent a whole week getting everything perfect. It sure is a time consuming endeavor. I was against the idea of using XP's Files and Settings Transfer Wizard but my sister wanted everything transferred to the new hard drive/OS so her new OS would be just like it was on her old. The process went surprisingly smoothly except for one little snafu in Outlook which I didn't notice until after she took her computer home 100 miles away! It doesn't appear as though the Wizard transferred her Address Book. And we can deal with that by just creating a new one. But when she tries to open the Address Book she gets a "Can't Contact LDAP Server Error 81" type of error. She doesn't need or want an LDAP Address Book/server.
Is there a way that we can just remove the LDAP feature from Outlook so that we don't have to deal with this unnecessary error message? Or is there a registry edit that we can do to in essence remove the LDAP feature from Outlook?
Any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Bob.

From Office XP Outlook Help:
Exclude an LDAP directory from the list of address books being used to check names
On the Tools menu, click Address Book.
In the Address Book dialog box, click Tools, and then click Options.
In the When sending mail list, click the address book that you want to exclude.
Click Remove.
