Outlook Express will not send emails

Question

Outlook Express receives emails and the internet works, but we cannot send emails via a mobile phone USB modem. We can send emails using dial up modem. The error message ends with Socket error 11001 Error No 0x800CCC0D or Socket error 10060 Error No 0x800CCC0E The ISP says that this is a hardware fault - they have checked all the usual settings in Outlook Express. Any ideas what the error is, where it is and how to rectify it?

It seems to be trying to connect to the dial up and is not configured to use the mobile usb phone. Look in the settings

Tools
Options
Accounts
Mail Tab
Select the Account your having problem with (Double Click or hit properties)

Hit the Connection Tab
Check the box "Always connect to this account using"
And from the drop down box select the usb modem.

If it is not there you may not be able to use the usb mobile phone modem

Outlook Express can't send regular email over a cell phone. You have to use a land line.
