(i)Run the outlook Express repair tool - this is not the finest tool that MS ever produced, but sometimes it's OK.
Go to Start | Control Panel | Admin Tools | Event Viewer | System - are there any red or yellow blobs? If so, double click them to get some help on what happened.
(ii) disable your anti-virus program and see if the same fault appears. If the problem is solved, don't worry, you should then be able to reactivate your anti-virus program without the same thing happening again.
(iii)
1. In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Options.
2. Click the Maintenance tab, click to clear the Compact messages in the background check box, and then click OK.
3. Quit and then restart Outlook Express.
(iv) Make sure to do a repair on Internet Explorer & check to see if you need any updates on your system.
(v) Clear out as many messages as you can - be ruthless! A small in-box is a happy in-box.
