Outlook Runs Slow

My Outlook runs VERY slow.  When I click on a meesage it takes a good 5 seconds before it displays it in the preview plane. (don't even talk about opening it up....) I thought I read somewhere that this is a know problem with XP, BUT no one else in my office is experiencing this problem.  Any ideas

P.S.  My 'pst' file size isn't that big and I archive often.

Not sure this is related to your problem, mostly it cures slow opening of Outlook;  try tools, options, other tab, uncheck 'enable instant messaging in Microsoft Outlook'

I had the same problem.  Outlook would take 45 sec to 1 minute to load.  I tried reinstalling XP and Outlook to solve the problem. As suggested, I went to the options tab, found that the instant messaging box was checked.. I unchecked it.  Outlook has never launched so fast since the day I purchased it!!! Click and its running.

My comment.  The slow loading really became a major problem after I added McAfee Privacy, ZoneAlarm, Spybot and PestPatrol.  Whatever the cause, unchecking the IM box solved my problem.

Thanks.
