I have had this com. for Three years. I have MS word 2002 and now everytime i try to get on word the message the patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vender to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package. Please help so I can use word again for school???/
I see my reply did not complete. I found a cure to this problem on the Microsoft Office XP site. If you search for "patch package" you should find it. You need to download a msicuu.exe file, which allows you to uninstall Word 2002. Make sure you choose this for all Windows Xp software is listed. I restalled my Word and it works just fine. Good luck. As you can see, I am also new to this forum.
I tried to find the msicuu.exe file down load but could not find it. All I got was about 50-100 articles about everything but that. What excactly do I have to do if you can help me? I am getting very tired of this prob. Nothing is working for me. Thank you so much for all your time all ready.

I had a similar problem and found the cure on the Microsoft website. To uninstall Word 2002 download the file msicuu.exe from
