Quick, simple, dumb question about all email programs
Can anyone tell me why all email programs are referred to as "email clients" when you'd think a "client" would be the person using the program?

This is straight from Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary, definition of the word client:
Definition 2, d: a computer in a network that uses the services (as access to files or shared peripherals) provided by a server
Now you know.
