Setting up e-mail account in Microsoft Outlook 2003

I would appreciate some guidance in terms of setting up an e-mail account.  I tried reading the information on the help page but I guess I am not getting it.  I currently have a Yahoo e-mail account.  Are there any advantages to setting up the account by connecting to an Exchange server versus connecting through Yahaoo?  Any other guidance would be appreciated.

As I understand it, you cannot use an e-mail program such as Outlook or Outlook Express to check mail on standard Yahoo accounts.  You must have the pay Yahoo e-mail account and also Yahoo is supposed to have info on how to set up Outlook.

I just setup email in Outlook 2003 using Yahoo account. They will give you the server settings you need.  They are:

incoming mail: ppp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

outgoing mail: smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

this info is input in your setup wizard for Outlook, along with your email address and password you use with Yahoo.

Hope this helped.
