Software- PowerPoint Slides
Does anyone know if it is possible to recover saved-over PowerPoint files? Five of the slides in my PowerPoint are missing from my presentation. It was not a save error because all the information entered into my presentation before, during, and after creating those five slides is still there. I have no idea what happen to the five slides so I am hoping there is a way to recover this valuable data. I'm using Windows XP and the PowerPoint version is 2003.

Check to see if power point autosaved a backup file at some point that might still have the missing data. Don't open PP again before you search because it might delete or overwrite an old backup.
The names of power point autobackup files look like this: pptxxx.tmp (where xxx are variable letters or numbers).
So search your hard drive and keep fingers x'd. Be sure to move the file out of the "C :\ Documents and Settings\ \Local Settings\Temp" folder where they're typically saved immediately so it doesn't get deleted. You'll have to rename it to some new name with the .ppt extension so power point will open it.
