Sum in Excel [######] ?

Question

Tax time and I am now learning excel!  Can someone please help me with a glitch I'm having with the sum command.  I set a cell with a formula sometimes it works then other times it fills in with ###### marks.  If I drag the cursor over the ###### it will display the proper total.  When trying to print it only prints the ######.  Another thing, sometimes the total will show correctly then after using the sheet for awhile it will go to the ###### thing again!  Please Help

You need to expand your cell, it is not wide enough to contain all the numbers that you are entering. Just drag the right side of the cell at the top where the letters are, to the right or left to expand the cell.

Normally, this indicates the column is not wide enough to display the result. Try double clicking between the column letters to auto width the column.
