Your shortcut sounds corrupt. I have Office XP and Excel 2002. If you open windows explorer,C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\
Office 10\ you should find Excel in the files with the Excel icon. Right click and select Create Shortcut. See if this shortcut
works.
