Theo,

When you uninstalled the older version, did you restart your computer to clean out the files?

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your reaction.

I did restart the computer. But even then an upgrade was not possible.

So I restored my laptop, with even more problems (error's when i want to delete files) as result. Reïnstalling the drivers etc as find on the Dell website, wasn't a solution. So I re-restored my laptop. I still see fingerprint suite is listed in my program's but at the same time it isn't actif anymore (don't see any icon in icontray). But upgrading, installing, ... is still impossible.

Very strange:emotion-8:

Theo,

When you restored your laptop, dod you use this method?

Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings

Or did you use this method?

How To Restore or Reinstall Microsoft® Windows® on a Dell™ Computer

You have to install the drivers in a certain order.

The Desktop/Notebook Utility needs to be installed first(if applicable), then the chipset drivers. If they are NOT installed first, then the rest of the drivers will fail to install.

Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.

:emotion-55: Hint :emotion-55: When downloading the drivers, make a folder for each drivers and name it with the device it belongs with to make it easier to install them in the proper order.

Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software(if applicable)
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card

QuickSet(Laptop only)

Hi,

I did the system restore (in Windows), so as it says: "System Restore can return a system to working condition without a full reinstallation".

But that didn't work and I set it (again via the restore-function in Windows) back (so reset the system-restore).
