Uninstalling Fastaccess

I never manually installed this program and I'd prefer to have to type in my password on login.  I removed it from the startup and have disabled it in the tray, but it still appears on login and I want to remove it.  When I try using Add or Remove Programs, it says I need a CD rom with it.

Is there any way to remove it (like in safemode or something) without having to get a CD?  It would be completely rediculous if we have to order a Dell Backup disk merely to REMOVE a program...

Hi Grunie- As we mentioned previously in this thread, the automatic re-installing behavior is due to the Dell delivery program caching the FastAccess installer file. The reinstall behavior is NOT intentional, and FastAccess has no control over the reinstall process. Dell has addressed the automatic reinstall problem in the latest Dell digital delivery version.

Further, FastAccess does use the “Native Windows install features” for uninstalling like other typical windows software, from the Windows control panel. You don’t have to contact anyone to uninstall it.

To uninstall the FastAccess software:

  1. Open the Windows control panel
  2. Select Programs and Features
  3. Locate the FastAccess(or Face Recognition) entry and double-click on it
  4. FastAccess installer/setup box will show- Press the next button
  5. Select the “Remove all config files”- Press next button
  6. Accept all of the prompts during uninstall
  7. Restart PC

Thank you.

I found FastAccess to be slow and cumbersome, would rather just log in the old-fashioned way -- this uninstall process worked perfectly!   Really appreciate the detailled, step-by-step instructions with no assumptions made. I am running on newly installed Windows 10 and it was bascially the same, no problems.  Thank you!

This WORKED!!!  I'm running Windows 10, and other solutions didn't lead anywhere.  The key was not being afraid to say "yes" to the Install Wizard -- ironically, you have to do that to get to the second page where you can remove it!  Thank you!

Hi Jesse,

1) there is no uninstall program in that Fast Access location i.e. I only have FastAccess there

2) both modify and uninstall under the normal add/remove programs is grayed out for this program when I click on it. Other programs allow me to uninstall.

I tried to go to add/remove programs (Win 10) as administrator and when I click on this program both modify and uninstall are greyed out. So couldn't do it that way. I then went to task manager and disabled it from starting up. When I restarted my computer I still had it at the logon screen & going to add/remove programs still shows the two buttons as greyed out.
